Pennsylvania Institute for Instructional Coaching — A Partnership Between the Annenberg Foundation and the Pennsylvania Department of Education

In addition to the Annenberg Foundation and Pennsylvania Department of Education, PIIC draws on the special talents and resources of the following technical assistance and research team:
  • Elliott Medrich, Consultant, and FHI 360 National Institute for Work & Learning who are conducting the program evaluation and  research on the implementation and outcomes of PIIC.
  • The Philadelphia Foundation which provides administrative and fiscal support to PIIC.
  • Capital Area IU 15 which provides administrative and fiscal support to PIIC.
  • Amy Walker, Educational Consultant, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education/Elementary education and a Master of Science in Special Education with a specialization in students with serious emotional disturbance. She also has a Doctorate of Philosophy degree in English (linguistics  and composition).  For 26 years Walker taught a self-contained secondary classroom on the grounds of a residential treatment facility for adolescents with serious emotional/behavioral challenges.  She was also an adjunct professor for a state university, where she taught both graduate and undergraduate courses in literacy.   

  • Kathleen Eich, Educational Consultant, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Southern Connecticut State University and a Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders from Penn State University. She taught students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing for 20 years before becoming a member of the Training and Consultation Team focusing on RtII and literacy.  In addition to being the PIIC mentor, she is currently the coordinator of professional development for CAIU 15.
