The Pennsylvania Institute for Instructional Coaching (PIIC) has recently expanded by more than twice its size, increasing from 10 to 22 of the 29 Intermediate Units (IUs) in Pennsylvania.

With the expansion comes a plethora of new coaches, mentors, and an additional layer of support. Five new Regional Mentor Coordinators (RMCs) will each work with 5-6 IU mentors in a specific region maintaining the integrity to the PIIC key elements. Like mentors and coaches, RMCs will model both the BDA cycle of consultation and the PIIC 4 Core Components of Effective Coaching, providing consistency in implementation of PIIC’s best practices.

New mentors will get their first full PIIC experience at the end of the month during the July 25-27 Professional Development (PD) in Penn State.  Coaches from the new IUs will be officially welcomed during the October 29-31 PIIC PD.
